You can delete individual words, entire word lists (“pools”) or your learning progress without deleting your account. If you want to remove the whole account with all its data, follow the instructions under delete your account instead.
Delete a single word
- In VokaKitty, open the Pools tab and choose the pool in question under “Mine”.
- Tap the word in the list to open the edit dialog.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
The word and its learning progress (flashcard box position, due date, answer history) are removed.
Delete an entire pool
- Pools tab → “Mine” → open the pool.
- In the pool’s menu, choose “Delete pool” and confirm.
All words in the pool and your learning progress for them are deleted.
Shared pools: if you have shared the pool with friends, it remains readable for those members; the link to your account is removed. If the pool should disappear entirely, first revoke access for all members (in the pool’s sharing settings) and delete it afterwards.
Remove pools shared by others
Pools that someone has shared with you are in the Pools tab under “Shared”. Using “Leave”, or declining the share, removes the pool from your device. The content itself still belongs to the person who created the pool.
Synchronisation
Deletions take effect immediately on the device and are transferred to the server and your other devices at the next sync. Content deleted offline is submitted as soon as there is a connection again. After a successful sync, the content is removed from the server too.
What is kept
- Core account data (username, email, settings) as well as your overall streak and coins remain until you delete your account.
- Deleted content is removed from server backups as part of the regular backup cycle.
